Queen's Counsel

Letter from Lance Finch - Chief Justice of British Columbia

Brian Webster received his QC or Queen's Counsel designation in 2006. The designation of QC is a designation of highest regard. It is given for excellence in work as counsel, meaning work as a barrister in the courtroom or for advocacy and community work or for being a recognized expert in and sometime for work within the legal or broader community. Only a very limited number of counsel are ever given this designation in BC and it is conferred by the Attorney General after selection by a group that includes the chief judge of each level of court in British Columbia. As an honour conferred by lawyers to the best of their group it is considered one of the highest honours a lawyer can receive. Brian Webster is proud to have been given this honour.
